One of My Favourites….

…Bible Passages:

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters,[a] whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do. James 1:2-7

Ever since I’ve read this passage it’s resonated with me. At the core, it’s one of the very few that I go back to, and back to. I just connect with it.

We have to consider it and park our minds on the truth that our triumph in this trail matters. Triumph in this choice will produce a blessing. According to Jame, the blessing we have to consider is this: “that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything” (James 1:4)

Oh, sister, isn’t this the heart of what we seek in our lives? I want to be mature and complete, not lacking.

It’s important, I think, to have a passage, a motto, a saying, a mantra that you can go back to. One that re-focuses and reminds you that you’re human and you’re gonna be ok.

Do you have one?
